Esoteric tunings in the piano confirm this is almost certainly the same piano that currently sits in Mr Matthews' front room. For many years it lived under a sheet of corrugated iron at the foot of a cliff. "I didn't want it to get hurt" explains Matthews. What was it doing at the bottom of a cliff? "Gravity. Obviously I had to push it to a position in which gravity was able to do its thing." Why? "I'd lost my library ticket inside. I can't remember why but at the time it was vitally important I retrieve it. Sticks didn't work. I tried coaxing it out with an ewok, but no."
