Andy Matthews writes: "this was the hypnotist song. Yes, some stag do we'd gatecrashed, Harry Blustone, the managing director of Ah! records and I, mad on bad fish and bickering like wagon wheels in a tumble dryer. Anyway, turns out we both got hypnotised into thinking we were a German Smiths covers band, called the Schmidtz. All designed to be confined by the stag do, but we'd escaped somehow and managed to record a single before the hypnotist caught up with us and snapped us out of it. Turned out wuite well, I think. Neither Harry nor myself recall the slightest bit of it, but we did go down to Hastings to celebrate, and took the cover shot. Again, mad on bad fish. I had become convinced Harry was steling every penny from the company. impossible, because we hadn;t made any money, at all. But he was.

this is a true story about a friend of mine who felt socially obliged to enter the local village traditional marksman contest and then won it. unfortunately the 'prize' was that he had to buy drinks for everyone in the village. This bankrupted him. He now lives in a bag by the lake, working as a bodyguard for ducks.
